Life of Lies

She was considered lucky,

Just like her mother.

Intelligent and smart that she was,

She aced academics and sports.

Fiercely independent she became,

And tasted success in every step.

Even her marital life was a bliss,

And happiness never did she miss.

Her mother visited her one day,

To enquire about her well-being.

She smiled and said, “all is well”.

Least did she know,

That her mom would find out her lie.

The lie that she masked,

Beneath her smile and busy life.

Her mom pulled her by hand and said,

” I won’t let you live a life of lie,

Just as I have lived till now”.
