Serene

by | Apr 1, 2024 | Poetry | 2 comments

The dawn breaks with

Suprabhatam and Sahasranamam

And a white carpet of kolam,

Ushering in the day.

The aroma of filter coffee

Filling the room,

Was an unsaid alarm

For me to wake up.

Brightly lit pooja room,

With chandanam and camphor,

Spreading their fragrance..

Ahhhh… so divine isn’t it?

The clanking sound of

The temple bells from nearby,

With the devoted chants

Add on to the divinity.

The hustling city life,

Oft has me yearn,

To go back and enjoy

The serenity of those days.
