In the name of taxes,

Our country was looted.

Our hard earned money,

Filled the English caskets.

Enraged at this treatment,

The young bloods boiled.

They vowed to get the money back,

Just like Robin Hood.

Kakori was the chosen route,

And Ramprasad Bismil, the leader.

Azad, Ashfaqullah Khan and several others,

The trusted accomplices.

They robbed the coach with money,

Not of the English but ours.

Arrests happened and death sentence too,

But that didn’t deter the spirits.

9 August 1925 is still vivid in our minds,

Just like Bismil’s words…

Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai

Dekhna hai zor kitna baazu-ye-qaatil  mein hai
