An Ode to Papyrus

Born in China,

You became a globetrotter.

You are an artist’s delight,

And a writer’s pal.

You carried words soaked

In love and hatred.

You were a witness,

To several treaties too.

Pacts were signed on your surface,

And remained sealed forever.

You created masterpieces

Through the art of Origami.

Your skin became the canvas,

To pencils and inks of all hues.

Your freshness and fragrance, Oh! I love,

And your soft touch I do crave.

Nothing can beat your importance,

My dear Papyrus, unbeatable is your elegance.
