An Emotion

-

White and fluffy batter,

Ground to perfect smoothness,

All fermented and ready,

To satiate the hunger pangs.

Tawa, greased with oil,

Pre-heated to the optimal,

Is ready to receive the white batter,

With arms open wide and round.

Srrrrppp goes a serving of batter,

Onto the tawa that’s heating up,

And quickly moved the ladle in circles,

Spreading a thin, white carpet.

Spoonful of ghee decorates the sides

And as it seems to the center,

The white carpet turns golden brown,

Sizzling it’s way through the heat.

Aptly paired with chutneys and sambhar,

The crispy crepe is indeed a delight,

Dosa, the heavenly crisp,

Is something that’s always relished.
