Kirti V

An IT Professional turned teacher who loved to write took to serious writing during the 2020 pandemic. I prefer writing poems but have written some short stories as well. A voracious reader, linguist, an avid quizzer, music and sports lover, self proclaimed coffee addict and foodie that I am, my creations also reflect the same. Have contributed to some anthologies and look forward to publish my own sometime. Kirti's Signature is the foundation for that.. Happy to share my work with you all through this website. It contains poems, stories, mini bytes (pocket poems and pocket stories), reviews and a glimpse of my published work!! The website will also feature the different types of poetry forms with the explanations and sample poems written on the same.

I, Mumbai

They came in fearlessly, And looked possessed. They marched on my body, As though they were obsessed.   They carried ammunitions, And entered my chambers. Within seconds I was covered, With blazing embers.   My children reacted fast, But they were faster. By the time the...

Wee Hours

Wrapped in a black blanket, The sky was deep asleep. Everything was muted, Was that for the sky to sleep?   The lone star twinkled, Through the cover, Was it a signal, To its lover?   The crickets spoke to each other, Breaking the silence. It...

Loss

Heavy on heart, Haunting the mind, Loss leaves an impression, That creates a void.   Loss, just four letters, Is a word that's inevitable, But dreaded by  Every human on earth.   Loss of a loved one, A dear one, Oh… that's hard, To adjust and move...

Why??

Dust and fragments Covered the earth, That once was a garden.   Instead of cherries on trees, It now had dried blood, And pieces of human flesh.   Pebbles were replaced, With empty shells And metal fragments.   The greenery gave way to, Grey, black and red… The...
