Barren and Dry

-

Earth, all barren and dry,

Its cracks…so deep,

Is she about to cry?

Thirst was in its high,

As the rains fell asleep

Earth, all barren and dry.

Ignored by the cloudy sky,

She couldn’t help but weep,

Is she about to cry?

She was all about to die,

Since even a drop didn’t seep,

Earth, all barren and dry.

Her insides were visible to the naked eye,

As a single green cover didn’t sweep,

Is she about to cry?

She just asked, “Why me, why?

A little water can’t I reap?”

Earth, all barren and dry.

Is she about to cry?
